Product Video
Blockboard is a panel consisting of a core of wooden strips between two layers of plywood. Our Blockboard has quality B/BB grade Hardwood Plywood faces on both sides, this means that the panels have minimal knots and defects, providing a smooth surface on the panel. Blockboard is considered to have more structural integrity and resilience than other panels such as Plywood and MDF, with chances of warping and cracking greatly reduced with the use of Blockboard. Blockboard is one of the strongest sheet materials we stock here at Builders Marketplace.
Due to the resin used to create the Blockboard we supply, it is not suitable for outdoor use. However, due to its softwood core, when Blockboard is used for interior projects it is highly versatile and customisable. These panels can be cut and adapts to most machinery, while the board can also be edged with softwood, veneered or painted. These qualities combined make Blockboard a perfect choice for a project such as an interior door, with its adaptability to customisation along with the material being a poor conductor of heat and sound.
Blockboard has a thickness of 18mm and is available in a variety of sizes:
