Specifications
Marine Plywood, as the name suggests, is a highly durable structured board heavily used in the marine and boat industries due to its highly moisture-resistant core. This core makes this particular Plywood extremely resistant to expansion and rotting, further backed up by the fact that these boards are BS 1088 certified. These boards are manufactured from bonded veneers and the edges are glued with Phenolic Resin, ensuring ultimate durability and moisture resistance.
Aside from its use in the marine industry, Marine Plywood is also ideal for use in external joinery, shelving, and temporary structures.

Our Marine Plywood is available in thicknesses of 4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, and 25mm and comes in a number of sizes:

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 12 mm marine plywood used for?

Medium‑duty marine tasks: boat cabins, splashbacks, wetroom panelling, cladding, or where strength & moisture resistance are required but not extreme loads.

What makes this 12 mm plywood marine grade?

Waterproof adhesive, high quality hardwood veneers, tight construction with minimal voids, designed to BS1088 where certified.

Will it delaminate if exposed to water?

Properly manufactured marine ply with WBP glue resists delamination under damp conditions; but untreated edges or cuts may degrade if not sealed.

How well does 12 mm hold screws and fixings?

Good — thick enough to absorb screws without splitting, especially if pilot holes are used and correct fixings chosen.

Is 12 mm marine plywood suitable for flooring applications?

Yes, for lighter flooring or as underlayment. For heavy traffic or large spans, extra support may be necessary.

Can I machine or router this board?

Yes, with proper tooling. Use sharp bits, steady feed, support sheet well. Seal edges after machining.

How heavy is a full sheet, and how to handle transport?

Moderate weight. Still large and bulky; requires two people or mechanical assistance for safe handling.

How to maintain and protect 12 mm marine plywood?

Clean regularly, avoid standing water, reapply sealant or finish as needed, check for fungal growth if in very damp conditions.

Can this be used in interiors exposed to humidity (e.g. bathroom)?

Yes — works well for wet rooms, shower panels, bathroom cabinetry when sealed and finished correctly.

Is bulk or trade pricing available and what are lead times?

Yes — trade customers usually benefit. Lead times may vary depending on stock and custom cutting; delivery arrangements may need to consider access.
