Frequently Asked Questions

What is this product for?

It seals the cut edges of phenolic or marine plywood to protect against moisture ingress.

What types of plywood is it compatible with?

Phenolic faced plywood and marine plywood — or any board edges at risk of absorbing moisture.

What sizes and colours are available?

Comes in clear or brown colours, tin sizes of 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 L, 3 L.

Is it water‑based or solvent‑based?

Water‑based acrylate formula.

How to apply it?

Brush or roll onto bare or cut edges, ensure full coverage, allow to dry before further finishing.

Does it protect adequately?

Yes — it gives a barrier that reduces moisture ingress, thereby improving durability.

Does it affect paint / finishes over it?

It’s designed to be compatible — once dried, other finishes can go over it.

How long before reapplication?

Depends on exposure — inspect edges periodically, and reapply if wear or cracking appears.

Will it peel or flake over time?

If substrate moves or is poorly prepared it may. Good surface prep and proper adhesion helps.

Can it be used on other materials?

It is optimized for plywood edges but may work on other wood edges needing sealing, though always test.
