Super-Grip Tile Adhesive

Super-Grip Tile Adhesive is a ready mixed, high grab adhesive used for fixing ceramic and similar wall tiles to suitable interior surfaces. It is ideal for domestic bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and other internal wall tiling projects.

Super-Grip is generally designed for wall tiling rather than floors. For floor tiles, particularly in high load or wet areas, a suitable powdered cement-based tile adhesive is usually recommended. Always check the product datasheet for approved applications.

Super-Grip may be suitable for domestic shower areas when used on correctly prepared backgrounds and with appropriate grout and waterproofing. However, for heavily or continuously wet areas, many manufacturers recommend a cement-based adhesive and suitable tanking system. Always follow the adhesive manufacturer’s guidance.

It can typically be used on sound, dry, well-prepared plaster, plasterboard, existing tiles and some painted surfaces, provided they are firmly bonded and lightly abraded. Avoid dusty, greasy or unstable surfaces and always follow the instructions for priming or preparation.

Drying time depends on tile size, adhesive bed thickness, substrate and room conditions. As a general guide, allow at least 24 hours before grouting, but always follow the drying and curing times on the tub for your specific job.

In many cases, yes, provided the existing tiles are firmly bonded, clean, degreased and lightly abraded to improve key. Be aware that tiling over tiles adds to overall thickness and weight, so ensure the background can support the load.

Clean tools, trowels and any excess adhesive from the tile face with clean water before it starts to skin or dry. Once cured, the adhesive will be much harder to remove. Keep the lid on the tub closed when not in use to prevent premature skinning.
