Specifications
MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is a commonly used particle board. It is made by mixing wood fibres, waxes and resins then hot pressing it to different thicknesses. Its main advantage compared to other particle boards and timbers is its clean finish and lack of natural imperfections. Additionally, our MDF boards are FSC Certified, making them extremely environmentally friendly. Due to its dense fibre body, MDF remains strong and holds its form if installed correctly. With massive stocks available, you can always rely on Builders Marketplace for all your MDF needs.
Practical uses of the White Melamine MDF include bathroom and kitchen furniture and skirting and window boards . Its base of Standard MDF with a white melamine coating adding an extra desirable quality above standard MDF material. Because our MDF is manufactured without grain or knots, it’s easy to apply paints and veneers to its face side for full customisation. This smooth surface also contributes to the ease of cutting screwing and gluing of the boards, as well as making them easy to clean and maintain.
Our White Melamine MDF is available in a variety of thicknesses (12mm, 15mm, 18mm) and multiple sizes. We can also cut any piece of MDF to your required size or pack together as many sheets as you need for your project. Delivery is offered or collections can be made from our depot for savings.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes 15 mm melamine MDF a popular choice for furniture and joinery?
It offers stronger structure than thinner boards, good screw pull‑out resistance, and holds up well under load in interior settings.
Does the white finish stay clean and bright?
Yes, with routine cleaning and avoiding harsh chemicals. The surface can resist dirt and marks better than untreated wood or MDF.
How do I cut or edge 15 mm board nicely?
Use sharp saws or router bits, support well, and trim edges cleanly. Edge banding and sealing cut edges help maintain appearance.
Is painting needed at all?
Usually only on edges or where parts must match other finishes. The face is already melamine‑white so no painting needed there.
How does this board cope with moisture and humidity?
The surface resists moisture; unprotected edges can absorb moisture. Best suited for indoor use away from direct wet exposure.
How to maintain and clean it effectively?
Use warm water and mild soap, soft cloths. Avoid soaking, avoid abrasive scrubbers. Immediately dry any wet areas.
Will the board bear heavy weights or loads?
Yes — 15 mm has improved load capacity vs thinner boards; good for shelving with medium load. Proper support is beneficial.
What sizes are common and is custom sizing possible?
Full boards (e.g. ~2440×1220 mm) are typical; most suppliers offer cut‑to‑size to your dimensions.
Is there any special finishing for residues or edges?
Edges often sealed or banded to match surface. Use fillers for holes or drill work; clean edges for better looks.
Bulk or trade pricing / warranties?
Yes — trade orders often get discounts. Some boards include warranty on finish or structural performance; check the product specifics.
